A Clockwork Beta

A short documentary portrait of artist Matthew Pleva, who creates intricate illustrated narratives from thousands of cross-hatched marks. Working from his tiny workshop and showroom, Pleva painstakingly cuts out his drawings and mounts them on brass armatures, transforming the illustrations into dimensional dioramas.

In the film, Pleva creates a Betamax version of A Clockwork Orange, combining his intricate artwork with his fascination for obsolete media.
